About the Opportunity:
We’re recruiting on behalf of a high-growth organisation building
next-generation AI for regulatory intelligence . This is a hands-on
Data Scientist
role focused on developing and deploying
intelligent document analysis
and
semantic search
capabilities, combining classical NLP with modern transformer and LLM-based approaches.
You’ll have real ownership across the modelling lifecycle—helping shape strategy, building robust evaluation, and ensuring models perform reliably in production.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Designing, building, and maintaining
NLP models
for document parsing,
entity recognition , and relationship extraction
Creating
hybrid NLP pipelines
using rule-based methods alongside transformer-based approaches
Developing and fine-tuning
embeddings
and similarity models to power semantic content discovery and related-document search
Supporting the
end-to-end MLOps lifecycle : model versioning, automated evaluation, monitoring, and continuous deployment
Implementing evaluation frameworks covering accuracy, robustness, bias, and drift detection
Building reproducible training workflows and supporting automated
CI/CD
for model development
Collaborating with backend engineers to integrate models into production services with traceability and explainability
Staying current with emerging research and testing new approaches to retrieval, summarisation, and semantic search
Qualifications
4+ years’
hands-on experience in data science or NLP engineering (Python-focused)
Experience deploying and maintaining
NLP/LLM models
in production or production-like environments
Practical knowledge of
MLOps tooling
and model evaluation practices
Experience with
vector databases / embedding stores
(e.g. ChromaDB, FAISS, Mongo Atlas)
Strong understanding of semantic similarity metrics and evaluation methods
Cloud and deployment exposure (preferably
Azure ) plus containerisation ( Docker / Kubernetes )
Good software engineering practices: version control, testing, reproducibility
Graph-based methods or
knowledge graphs
Experience working with
regulatory, legal, or financial text
Familiarity with
LLM evaluation tools , LangChain, or related evaluation frameworks
Hybrid working with a flexible set-up and modern tooling
A key role shaping a real-world applied AI product with tangible impact
Collaborative, high-performing team blending AI expertise with deep domain knowledge
