Assess and appraise existing electrical designs Create new electrical designs based on a project/product brief Ensure new and existing designs comply with relevant standards, safety protocols and compliance requirements Provide expert guidance and recommendations on engineering designs Identify and appraise new and existing components for suitability, durability and cost Prepare and own technical documentation to support the electrical designs Identify and perform test procedures to validate designs Troubleshoot electrical and component issues in the factory and in the field Perform electrical calculations to support your designs Draw on previous experience to provide solutions to design issues Relationships
To be effective in this role the Electrical Engineer will need to: Internal Stakeholders Control / Software Engineers – Coordinate on implementing control algorithms (e.g., PID) and integrating them into embedded systems. Test Engineers – Partner to develop and execute test plans, especially for high-power systems and HIL simulations. Project Managers – Provide technical updates, contribute to planning, and ensure alignment with project timelines. Mechanical Engineer – Ensure full system development and coordination between different principals Person Specification

Essential Qualifications & Experience One or more of the following: Degree or HNC/D in Electrical Engineering or related field. Formal training and qualification as an electrician C&G 2396 Electrical Design Proficient with electrical CAD packages Minimum 3 years of experience in Electrical Engineering Strong understanding of hybrid power systems, inverters, and energy storage technologies. Competent with knowledge on electrical characteristics: AC / DC Networks Power Factor kVA / kW Harmonics Proficient in reading electrical schematics and using diagnostic tools. Familiarity with PLCs, SCADA systems, and remote monitoring platforms is a plus. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively. Experience with PLCs, SCADA, or remote monitoring systems. Familiarity with renewable energy systems and grid-tied configurations. Formal training or experience on PCS/Inverter systems, VFD
