Here's where you come in…
We are looking for a Maintenance Manager who will be responsible for leading the maintenance function to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all equipment and facilities. This role provides strategic direction, drives proactive preventive maintenance, and builds strong partnerships with Machine Operators, Engineering, and Operations. The successful candidate will lead and develop the maintenance team, support onboarding of complex new machinery, and ensure maintenance practices align with operational and business objectives.
Position Responsibilities:
Leadership & People Management
Lead, coach, and develop the maintenance team in alignment with CMI values
Build strong followership and a positive, accountable work environment
Oversee hiring, performance management, development planning, and succession
Ensure compliance with health, safety, attendance, and conduct standards
Maintenance Strategy & Operations
Develop and execute proactive preventive maintenance strategies to maximize equipment reliability and uptime
Partner closely with Machine Operators to support safe and efficient operations
Lead onboarding and integration of complex new machinery in collaboration with Engineering
Oversee maintenance of equipment, facilities, infrastructure, and vehicle fleets
Coordinate internal and external maintenance resources, contractors, and service providers
Financial & Strategic Oversight
Establish departmental goals, KPIs, and performance metrics
Develop and manage departmental budgets, capital planning, and cost control
Optimize asset utilization and eliminate waste and non–value-added activities
Safety & Environmental Compliance
Ensure all equipment is maintained and operated safely and in compliance with legislation and company policies
Enforce PPE usage, contractor compliance, and visitor safety requirements
Support environmental compliance, including site and stormwater systems
Continuous Improvement
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reliability, and service quality
Skills/Knowledge/Experience required to perform the job:
Post-secondary education in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Maintenance, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field is considered an asset
5- 7 years of previous experience in a maintenance supervisory or management position
Strong technical knowledge of maintenance operations and preventive maintenance systems
Proven leadership, communication, and team development skills
Experience working cross-functionally with Operations and Engineering
Proficiency with basic business systems and reporting tools
