About
SUMMARY:
Responsible for programming and inspecting parts using CMM from drawings and 3-D Models.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
- Follows First Article and Final Parts Inspection processes to ensure verification of specifications and dimensions of all parts.
- Primarily utilizes a Coordinate Measurement Machine to verify that the parts inspected are within the specified parameters. May also use surface plate, comparator or other dimensional metrology equipment.
- Selects measurement techniques to maximize repeatability and reproducibility of measured parameters.
- Identifies out-of-tolerance conditions and reports them via a Corrective Action Report in a computer database.
- Additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Expert knowledge of blueprint reading, both English and Metric.
- Minimum of 2 years CMM programming experience, Zeiss Calypso is preferred
- Proficient with AutoCAD; UG experience is preferred
- Experience in using hand gauging and gauging commonly used for surface plate inspections;
- i.e., calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, height stands, etc.
- GD&T knowledge and experience with surface plate inspections
- Machining experience a plus
- Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, preferred
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Must be fluent in English with the ability to read, analyze, and interpret manufacturing drawings and technical specifications.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Uses addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of numbers including decimals and fractions. Uses simple formulae, charts, tables, drawings, specifications, schedules. Checks reports, forms, records and comparable data where interpretation is required involving basic skills knowledge.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
