About
The Dev Ops Engineer will be an integral part of the Pechanga IT team by crossing and merging barriers between software developers, system operators, network operations and other IT staff members to manage code releases and system automation. The Dev Ops engineer must be able to design, build and maintain various automation tools for developing digital pipelines (CI/CD pipelines) to ensure site/system reliability as they design, plan, and test.
FOUR DIAMOND SERVICE AGREEMENT
All Team Members will display a Four Diamond commitment to Customer Service through the delivery and maintenance of the Quality Standards established by Pechanga Resort Casino.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serves as an advocate for quality practices including the development of automated testing to improve business processes
- Documents, designs and re-designs various processes to continually improve service to the organization
- Manages CI & CD tools and pipeline as a partner to development teams
- Accountable for the quality development of enabling automation, application development, infrastructure development and overall IT service improvement
- Creates and maintains configuration standards for software and infrastructure
- Develops Infrastructure as Code (IaC) capabilities through software development, guiding vendor and product selection and developing standards
- Serves as a thought leader and partner to security, compliance and architecture teams
- Performs other job related duties as needed
Accountability: This position has no supervisory duties or responsibilities. Incumbent is responsible for protecting the assets of Pechanga Resort and Casino and for maintaining and providing a positive and professional work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS AND GUIDELINES

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/EDUCATION: Required Associate level degree in computer science, management information systems or undergraduate level certificate in programming with a combination of work-experience.
At least 5 years' experience is require red to successfully perform this job. Understanding and experience of Agile and Dev Ops methodologies preferred. Two or more years of experience in a Gaming environment preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be combined in lieu of degree/experience requirements.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Class "A" gaming license.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Experience with automation/configuration management using either Puppet, Ansible, Chef or an equivalent.
- Experience with shell scripting languages ( Powershell, BASH, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience installing, operating and troubleshooting a variety of open source technologies.
- Strong experience with relational and non-relational databases. (SQL and noSQL (Mongodb, Cassandra, or Couchbase))
- Practical experience developing software or meeting operational needs with code and script (JavaScript, Python, Perl, Ruby, PHP, .NET or Java).
- Experience with software quality principles and associated tools for testing and analysis.
- Knowledge of CI &CD practices and supporting tools (Jenkins, Bamboo, Team City or similar).
- Demonstrated experience in documenting, designing and re-designing processes in an enterprise environment.
- Experience with programmable infrastructure and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and principles.
- Excellent troubleshooting ability
- Commitment to the success of assigned projects, co-workers, and the organization.
Other Qualifications:
- Strong technical foundation in a number of the following tools and technologies:
o Windows and/or Linux (Ubuntu/Debian and/or RedHat/Centos/Fedora)
- 2+ years' experience with coding or scripting languages – with at least two of the following:
o Ruby/Jruby
o Perl, Python
o Java
o Go
o C#, C++
o JavaScript
o Bash
o PowerShell
o SQL
- Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Works under general supervision
