The purpose of the position is to provide direct instrumentation and electrical engineering support to the INEOS Pigments Complex consisting of two Titanium
Dioxide manufacturing facilities and an Air Separation Unit located in Ashtabula, OH.
The Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer role focuses on both improving the strategic long term reliability of the site's electrical and instrumentation systems and supporting the site's day to day operation with electrical expertise.
The Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer will be the electrical and instrumentation Subject Matter Expert (SME) to increase the effectiveness of troubleshooting
efforts, precision maintenance, and scope recommendations for equipment repair, replacement, or upgrade. This role will provide technical support during upset
conditions, including leading Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) investigations, troubleshooting of complex electrical issues, and Management of Change (MOC).
Responsibilities
- Act as the electrical Subject Matter Expert (SME).
- Responsible for the Electrical Mechanical Integrity (EMI) program for the site
- Lead or participate in investigations into electrical equipment failures that resulted in lost production when requested.
- Provide decision making support to Asset Managers and Engineers to ensure compliance with all applicable codes and regulations for the site.
- Develop, recommend, and implement strategies that maintain and improve electrical and instrumentation system reliability at the site to prevent process unit interruptions.
- Provide oversight for routine system and infrastructure checks on the site's substations, MCCs, switchgear, transformers, and grounding systems.
- Develop or revise maintenance and reliability procedures and PM tasks for electrical equipment in the EMI program to match industry best practices and site learnings.
- Maintain site electrical engineering specifications, ensuring they stay current with industry codes and standards.
- Provide oversight that all electrical work is properly risk analyzed and managed to comply with applicable codes, standards (NFPA, NEC, OSHA) and site safety policies.
- Develop, implement and oversee site policies and procedures to remain compliant wit INEOS Group Guidance Notes and safety principles.
- Design/specify, procure and support installation of all instrumentation and electrical equipment and systems including components that are both analog and discrete, electronic and pneumatic, hydraulic or mechanical.
- Promote and maintain the company's core values within the 20 Principles Safety Program.
You should possess:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
- 7+ years of demonstrated electrical engineering experience in reliability, design, maintenance and construction in a chemical manufacturing or industrial plant environment.
- Strong working knowledge of electrical power distribution, motor control and industrial instrumentation systems.
- Experience with hazardous area classifications
- Familiarity with process instrumentation and control systems (DCS and PLC).
- Experience with calibration programs and instrument lifecycle management.
- Knowledge of reliability practices such as root cause analysis and reliability centered maintenance.
- Knowledge of Electrical Safety standards and Area Electrical Classification standards (API, NFPA, NEC and NETA)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.

This is a salaried exempt day shift position.
