Job Summary:

In this position, you will erect and set wood and/or metal forms for concrete structures, such as sidewalks, curbs, walls, paving, and slab on grade. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, following blueprints and/or designs, pouring concrete, and leveling the concrete to the proper specifications while adjusting for elevation change or depth.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

· Assist with constructing vertical forms for Elevated formwork, stairs, benches, columns, and retaining walls.

· Assist with layout and bulkheads for Post Tension Systems.

· Bolt, nail, block, and align forms as directed by the form and to the layout provided.

· Install all materials needed and prepare the areas for concrete placements.

· Install bracing and shoring where necessary, such as high walls.

· Dig ditches and level earth to fine grade specifications, using pick, shovels, and rakes.

· Use a dual-grade laser to mark elevations and revise formwork.

· Use theodolite to mark the layout of tilt-up wall panels.

· Grade dirt and concrete efficiently and accurately.

· Build forms and assist in raising them to the required elevation.

· Erects and dismantles scaffolding.

· Must perform general labor duties as needed.

· Regular attendance is required according to company policy to ensure the crew can operate at the normal efficiency level.

· Adheres to procedures, regulations, and guidelines while minimizing errors and safety risks.

· Follow instructions and comprehend construction needs.

· Performs other duties of a similar or related nature as assigned

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Knowledge of concrete tools, carpentry tools, techniques, and practices.

· Adept at making prompt decisions and effectively addressing unexpected challenges or situations.

· Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.

· Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently.

· Be able to work with and finish concrete when necessary.

· Effective communication skills to work effectively and safely.

· An understanding of the construction field, process, and practices.

· Able to work a flexible schedule with last-minute schedule, location, time of shift change (day & night), and overtime work as needed.

· Work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others.

Education and Experience:

· High School or equivalent (preferred).

· Minimum two (2) years' experience in the construction industry.

Physical Requirements:

· Frequent walking on uneven surfaces, including ground in varying weather conditions.

· Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the outdoor elements.

· May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.

· Standing and performing repetitive work that includes pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying (80+ lbs.), twisting, sitting, squatting for 8 hours or more.

· Kneel, bend, and stoop repeatedly for extended periods or continually throughout the shift.

· Regularly works near heavy equipment and moving machinery.

· Exposure to outdoor environment with machinery/equipment in the surrounding area.
