Job Summary

The Practice Administrator I manages the operations of a medium-sized outpatient clinic, focusing on clinical quality, financial performance, and team development. This role works closely with physician leaders and senior management to implement strategic goals, ensure compliance, and support the delivery of excellent patient care.

The Practice Administrator I generally oversees operations for clinic(s) with 8 or less physicians plus consideration for complexity of clinical operations.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Direct day-to-day operations including staffing, scheduling, clinic flow, and patient services
  • Monitor clinic financials including budgets, billing, A/R, and cost controls
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and staff development
  • Ensure all staff meet quality, safety, and training standards
  • Collaborate with physicians and corporate leadership to meet operational goals
  • Oversee compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements
  • Resolve escalated patient concerns and drive service excellence
  • Support implementation of new programs, technologies, and process improvements

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field; or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a healthcare setting, with 2 years in a leadership role
  • Knowledge of healthcare operations, clinical workflows, and patient experience standards
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Experience using EMR and practice management system

Preferred Experience

  • Master's degree in Business or Healthcare Administration
  • Experience working in multi-specialty or high-volume outpatient clinics
  • Familiarity with ACO, PCMH, or other value-based care models
  • Team player who works efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment
