Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. The ideal candidate will have experience in food service and hospitality, demonstrating excellent communication skills and a strong focus on guest relations. This role is vital in ensuring guests have a positive first impression and enjoy a seamless dining or visiting experience. The Host will be responsible for managing reservations, greeting guests, and coordinating seating arrangements to optimize the flow of the restaurant or venue.

Duties

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide excellent customer service
• Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
• Coordinate seating arrangements to maximize table turnover while ensuring guest satisfaction
• Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operations
• Maintain a clean and organized host station and waiting area
• Provide guests with information about menu items, specials, or venue amenities as needed
• Handle phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette and assist with guest inquiries or special requests
• Assist with guest seating during busy periods and manage guest flow during events or peak hours
• Support guest relations by addressing concerns promptly and courteously

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a Host/Host or in food service/hospitality is preferred
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous
• Experience in restaurant, hotel, or guest services environments is a plus
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
• Professional appearance and demeanor with good phone etiquette
• Knowledge of hospitality industry standards and guest relations best practices
