Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC laser cutting equipment to produce high-quality sheet metal components. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, precision measurement, and fabrication techniques to ensure products meet strict quality standards. The CNC Laser Operator will work closely with engineering and quality assurance teams to optimize production efficiency and uphold safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines, ensuring accurate configurations based on blueprints and specifications
  • Program CNC laser equipment using CAD/CAM software, incorporating GD&T standards for precision fabrication
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics for accurate production runs
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC laser machinery to minimize downtime
  • Conduct quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances
  • Utilize hand tools, tooling, and fabrication equipment such as press brake machines, CNC milling machines, lathes, plasma cutters, welding tools, and stamping presses as needed
  • Operate forklifts, cranes, or other material handling equipment to move raw materials or finished products safely within the workspace
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment adhering to safety standards and best practices in manufacturing

Experience

  • Proven experience operating CNC laser cutting machines in a manufacturing setting
  • Knowledge of CNC programming languages and software (CAD/CAM)
  • Familiarity with blueprint reading, GD&T principles, and mechanical drawings
  • Hands-on experience with machining processes including plasma cutting, electrical discharge machining, CNC milling, lathe operations, welding, and fabrication techniques
  • Ability to use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators for quality inspection
  • Mechanical aptitude with basic math skills for calculating dimensions and tolerances
  • Experience working with sheet metal fabrication processes and tooling setup is highly desirable
  • Prior experience with forklift operation or crane handling is a plus but not required

Pay: $ $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
