Accounting / Payroll Associate

Thomas Printworks is seeking a talented individual to work in our corporate accounting team. This position must have a basic understanding of, and experience in accounting and payroll. The successful candidate will be part of a team that reports to the Controller and interfaces with upper management out of our Richardson, Texas location.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure timely compliance and accurate payroll by reviewing, preparing, processing and thoroughly documenting the pay data (changes, transfers, terminations, new hires, deductions, benefit hour balances, etc.) on the bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payroll for up to 400 employees using Paychex Flex.
• Follow through to resolve outstanding issues or concerns in a timely and responsive manner to queries from employees, management, and external sources.
• Support all internal and external audits related to payroll, benefits, workers' compensation, and 401K retirement.
• Must work independently to ensure the interests of employees and the company by using a thorough knowledge of payroll administration and Best Payroll Practices in accordance with TPW policies and procedures, and governmental laws and regulations while maintaining high ethical standards and confidentiality.
• Back up for calculating monthly sales commissions and manager bonuses based on bonus plans.
• Prepare and enter General Ledger accounting entries.
• Balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with monthly close processing and analysis.
