Job Title: Merch Designer & Planner
Position Overview:
We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Merch Designer & Planner to lead the design and planning of our merchandise from concept to production. This role combines artistic design skills with strategic planning to ensure that all merchandise aligns with our brand identity, appeals to our audience, and is feasible for production. The ideal candidate is highly organized, creative, and has a keen eye for trends and production processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Merchandise Design: Create visually appealing merchandise designs that align with the brand's style, theme, and target audience.
- Concept Development: Collaborate with marketing and product teams to brainstorm new merchandise concepts, seasonal collections, and limited editions.
- Planning & Strategy: Plan merchandise launches, including design timelines, production schedules, and inventory needs.
- Production Coordination: Work closely with vendors and production teams to ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective, and meet quality standards.
- Brand Consistency: Maintain a cohesive visual identity across all merchandise items.
- Trend Research: Monitor trends in fashion, lifestyle, and merchandise to inform design and planning strategies.
- Prototyping & Samples: Oversee sample creation, evaluate prototypes, and provide feedback before mass production.
- Budget & Cost Management: Collaborate with the finance team to manage production budgets and cost estimates.
- Inventory Forecasting: Assist in forecasting demand for merchandise to ensure proper inventory levels.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in merchandise design, fashion design, product design, or related field.
- Strong graphic design skills and proficiency in tools like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar.
- Knowledge of production processes, materials, and printing techniques.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Creative, trend-savvy, and detail-oriented.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with vendors, marketing, and operations teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
Preferred:
- Experience in lifestyle or retail merchandise.
- Knowledge of inventory management and supply chain coordination.
- Portfolio demonstrating merchandise design and production planning.
