Electrical Assembler

Summary/Objective

The Assembly position at OPCO Machinery is responsible for OEM packaging machine assembly, meeting quality control, maintaining the work area, adhering to safety guidelines, and collaborating with team members to while meeting production goals. This position focuses mainly on the electrical components of OEM packaging machinery in conjunction with basic mechanical skills.

1. Builds OEM equipment sold in the United States including:

2. a. Packaging machines

3. b. Parts refurbishment
4. c. Repair/modifications during assembly

5. d. Spart parts and upgrade kits

6. Assembly utilizes systems and components following basic blueprints, electrical codes, schematics, and manuals for mechanical, pneumatic and electrical systems

7. Experience with panel building, wire distribution, and electrical systems required

8. Installs wiring and conduit and connects power supply to machine

9. Ability to read prints and assemble components using mechanical drawings

10. Competency with electrical schematics and electrical tools

11. Be skilled in the safe use of hand tools, power tools, and cutting equipment

12. Follows instructions and duties as requested by supervisor

13. Valid Driver's License is required - Travel when requested, less than 5%

14. Ability to operate forklift and man-lift

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities

Work Environment

Shop and warehouse settings. The environment may be noisy and necessitate the use of protective equipment. Position must adhere to the safety measures of the company and manage working both independently and in a team effort.

This is largely an active technical role whereby there may be times where the employee will be required to lift up to 50lbs.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, hourly position. The hours of work and days are typically on first shift Monday through Friday.

Required Education and Experience

High school diploma; job related coursework/experience

5-6 years in electrical assembly preferred
