Compensation: $75,000 - $99,000/yr
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Systems Administrator to join our growing consulting team. In this role, you will be responsible for administering, maintaining, and supporting on-premises and cloud-based systems for different customers primarily through the delivery of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, monitor, and maintain servers, networks, and system infrastructure (Windows/Linux).
- Administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls across on-premise and cloud environments.
- Oversee patch management, backups, disaster recovery planning, and system updates.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues; provide Tier 2/3 support as needed.
- Implement and enforce system security policies, including vulnerability management and endpoint protection.
- Maintain documentation of system configurations, procedures, and best practices.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams on infrastructure projects and enhancements.
- Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and process improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (Hyper-V, VMware, Nutanix, etc.).
- Proficiency with networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPN, firewalls).
- Hands-on experience with cloud services (Azure, Entra ID, AWS, or Google Cloud).
- Experience with identity management (Active Directory, Azure AD, SSO, MFA).
- Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, and a willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certifications (CompTIA Network+/Security+, Microsoft, AWS/Azure).
- Familiarity with scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Experience with monitoring tools.
- Experience supporting multiple customer accounts and delivering complex projects.
