About
The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) provides intervention and consultation services to support children's communication development in natural environments. The SLP uses routines-based pediatric speech coaching intervention to assist in the child's progress towards goals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide early intervention (EI) speech-language therapy services in Chester and Delaware counties and partner with parents and caregivers while utilizing the Home-Based Coaching Model as endorsed and mandated by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- Participate in the coaching requirements for each county and stay abreast of best practices and principles for speech services in early intervention.
- Read, analyze, and interpret evaluation reports (ER) and individualized family service plans (IFSP) documentation and develop relevant IFSP goals as needed.
- Facilitate and implement IFSP goals as part of a comprehensive treatment plan to ensure progress.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to carry out a collaborative and supportive approach for families.
- Effectively draft reports and communicate information to parents and team regarding the child's goals and progress and how they can support them.
- Regularly attend and participate in progress monitoring and IFSP meetings to provide updates and guidance.
- Collect and analyze data for progress monitoring.
- Complete and submit all required paperwork within the guidelines established by the EI department and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania regulations.
- Develop and maintain a caseload and schedule of thirty (30) children to ensure meeting the weekly goal of twenty-two (22) billable hours.
- Coach and mentor team members and provide subject matter expertise to ensure growth and understanding.
- Perform other job-related activities including, but not limited to, to ensure adherence to a full-time schedule.
- Keep current on licensure, certifications, continuing education credits (CEUs), and best practices and principles in Speech Language Pathology and EI to ensure the provision of quality services.
- Complete twenty-four (24) hours of Pediatric and/or EI training each fiscal year.
- Attend bi-monthly CADES group meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience/Skills Requirements
- Licensed as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and ongoing completion of approved Continuing Education hours in the two (2) year mandatory renewal period to maintain licensure.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence from American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA)
- One (1) year experience with providing speech-language therapy services with young children and families (pediatric setting).
- Demonstrated knowledge of approved principles, state regulations, professional ethics, and evidence-based therapy practices used in the field of speech language pathology.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively prioritize tasks

- Demonstrated strong time management and organizational skills
- Demonstrated excellent judgment with the ability to independently solve problem and make decisions with little or no need for direct supervision
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate changes and/or identify issues and take appropriate and effective actions
- Excellent customer interaction, collaboration, and written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated intermediate experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and PowerPoint
- Experience using electronic management/electronic records systems preferred
- Must be able to perform CPR, First Aid, and crisis intervention using agency-trained protocols
- Must possess a current, valid driver's license in the state of residence, have a minimum of three (3) years of driving experience within the United States, and have an acceptable driving record, which will be assessed through a review of the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) recordย
- Ability to attend meetings off site as necessary
