About

Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to provide high-quality care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, aging needs, or other health challenges. This role involves assisting residents in their daily activities, ensuring safety, and promoting independence within a supportive environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to person-centered care and possess relevant experience in home and community care settings.

Duties

  • Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
  • Provide patient observation and monitor health status, including vital signs and medication administration
  • Support residents with meal preparation, cooking, and nutritional needs in accordance with care plans
  • Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts and assist with transfers safely
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties as needed
  • Document care activities accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards
  • Assist with community outings, social activities, and recreational programs to promote engagement
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times, including CPR and First Aid procedures

Experience

  • Prior experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or home health environments preferred
  • Experience working with people with developmental disabilities or autism is highly desirable
  • Background in patient monitoring, medication administration, or long-term care is advantageous
  • Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality standards required
  • Hands-on experience with caregiving tasks such as vital signs measurement, heavy lifting, or resident transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts is beneficial
  • Previous social work or home & community care experience will be considered an asset

Pay: $ $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 32 per week
