JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: PROJECT MANAGER – AIRPORT/BAGGAGE HANDLING
LOCATION: Atlanta, GA
OBJECTIVE
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of Airport Baggage Handling systems for major airports. The function of this position is to manage project scheduling, project buyout, estimating, document control and management of self-perform teams and subcontractors within the airport/baggage handling sector.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Define project parameters and review all related materials.
- Assemble and manage the project team; lead review meetings and maintain documentation.
- Collaborate with customers and sales teams to confirm project requirements.
- Establish clear communication procedures for all stakeholders, both written and verbal.
- Develop detailed schedules, set priorities, and identify lead times.
- Create and monitor cash flow plans.
- Manage drawing submittals and ensure accurate transmittal records.
- Implement processes for invoicing and coordination with accounting.
- Keep management informed of project status through regular updates.
- Review punch lists and initiate project closeout.
- Travel frequently to customer sites; ability to walk and inspect project areas is required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
CORE COMPETENCIES
- 5+ years of experience in Airport Baggage Handling Project Management.
- Strong background with General Contracting/Construction Management with industrial installation systems preferred.
- Proficiency in project management scheduling software, preferably SAGE 300, Procore, Microsoft Project, and/or Primavera/P6.
- Proficiency with the entire MIS Suite with advanced skills in Excel.
- Exceptional communication skills for interaction across all organizational levels and with customers.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to remain seated for extended periods and move throughout the office as needed.
- Operate computers and office equipment; review and assess documents.
- Navigate industrial conveyor systems, including climbing ladders and negotiating safety guards.
- Lift and carry objects up to 40 lbs.
