Position Summary
The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for inspecting machined and repaired components to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, customer specifications, and internal quality standards. This role requires strong experience with precision measuring equipment, blueprint interpretation, and collaboration with machining and engineering teams to ensure product quality throughout the repair and manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform in-process and final inspections of machined and repaired components
- Accurately measure parts using precision measuring instruments, including:
- Micrometers and depth micrometers
- Calipers
- Pi tapes
- Other hand and bench inspection tools
- Interpret and inspect to engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and customer specifications
- Verify dimensions, tolerances, surface finishes, and overall workmanship
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records and reports
- Identify nonconforming material and work with production, engineering, and quality teams on corrective actions
- Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with company quality procedures, safety policies, and applicable industry standards
- Assist with audits and customer inspections as required
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification preferred
- Minimum (X) years of experience as a QC Inspector in a machining or manufacturing environment
- Strong hands-on experience with precision measuring equipment (micrometers, depth micrometers, calipers, pi tapes, etc.)
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
- Working knowledge of tolerances and GD&T
- Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting
Preferred Qualifications (Plus Skills)
- Experience using AutoCAD and SolidWorks for drawing review and dimensional verification
- Experience with FARO Arm and/or laser tracker inspection systems
- Familiarity with engineered equipment repair, large-part machining, or industrial components
- Experience working in a quality system environment (ISO or similar)

Work Environment
