POSITION SUMMARY
The Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial leadership within a fast-paced construction environment. This role requires a seasoned financial professional with 15+ years of accounting experience in construction, demonstrating deep expertise in job costing, WIP reporting, revenue recognition, contract compliance, equipment cost allocation, and cash-flow forecasting.
The Controller will manage the accounting team, safeguard the integrity of financial data, support executive decision-making, and partner closely with operations to establish and maintain strong financial discipline across the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES1. Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee all daily accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, general ledger, banking, and month-end close.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Maintain an accurate and structured job cost system, including labor, materials, subcontractors, equipment, overhead, and allocated burden.
- Produce and present Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules, backlog reports, cost-to-complete forecasts, and earned revenue calculations.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and construction-specific financial standards.
- Coordinate internal and external audits.
2. Budgeting, Forecasting & Cash Flow
- Develop company-wide annual budgets and rolling financial forecasts.
