JOB DESCRIPTION: The Estimator / Project Manager Assistant is responsible for assisting the estimating department to ensure they have all the information available to successfully bid and manage all projects. Essential Functions as follows:

  • Fundamental understanding of multiple computer software programs but not limited to MicrosoftOffice (Excel, Word, etc.) salesforce 360, CADD, Adobe Acrobat. Some roofing knowledge is preferred,must communicate proficiently, focus on detail, results driven, teamwork oriented, stressmanagement/composure.
  • Keep all (ITB's) up to date.
  • Responding to invitations to bid.
  • Create prospect and appointment on sales force 360 for the designated estimator.
  • Downloading Plans.

oCreate folder with files downloaded for estimator(s) reference.
oSeparate Architectural plans related to roofing, including plumbing, and mechanical roof plans.
oSeparate scope related specifications.
oDownload all addendums and RFI's as they become available.

  • Verify if the project requires job walk and schedule accordingly.
  • Verify if the project requires mandatory pre-bid meeting and schedule accordingly.
  • Verify if the project requires prevailing wages.
  • Verify if prequalification packages are required, if so fill out and return in a timely manner.

Project Management:

  • Result projects won on salesforce 360.
  • Assist with material manufacturer warranty registration.
  • Review plans and Specifications with project manager before starting the submitting process.
  • Create job specific CADD details.
  • Create tentative schedule using the scheduling program for the production team.
  • Create submittals based on Proposal and job specifications.
  • Identify project specification sections and plan details on submittal.
  • Assisting Estimator(s) with Data Research when sourcing materials/products
  • Following up with Contractors/Builders on Pending Submittal Approvals and/or revisions.
  • Upload approved submittals to Laserfiche.
  • Notify superintendent and project manager that submittals have been approved.

Customer Experience:

  • Ensure the customer is updated and informed as much as possible.
  • Call the customer to confirm ITB was received and to let them know what estimator is assigned to this project.
  • A follow-up email will have to be sent with the estimator's contact information, copy estimator assigned to the project.
  • Consult the estimator to provide accurate information.

Travel: Out-of-state travel may occur occasionally to attend corporate meetings.

  • Has fundamental understanding of multiple roof systems including but not limited to concrete tile, shingles, decking, EPDM, built-up roofing, TPO/PVC, metal roofing, waterproofing, metal siding, gutters (residential & commercial), roof pavers, roof coatings, roof related sheet metal, below grade waterproofing and self-adhered membranes.

Work Environment - While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be in an office environment with moderate temperature and noise levels.

Employees will be provided with the standard safety training necessary to complete the performance of duties.
Physical Demands: This position remains seated at a desk for extended periods and may be located upstairs, therefore a certain amount of climbing is required daily. Must be able to walk for long periods of time and lift up to 50lbs. Must be able to climb ladders as needed.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time salaried position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., 40+ hours per week but, at times, may require additional hours to complete the workload.
Preferred Education and Experience High School diploma or GED, college an advantage but not required
