Job Summary:

Health and Wellness Enterprises is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Day Support Driver to provide daily transportation for clients attending our day support program. This role is essential in ensuring that clients are transported in a safe, timely, and compassionate manner. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, maintain vehicle cleanliness, follow all traffic regulations, and support the overall well-being of our clients during transit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport clients from their homes to the day support program and return them at the end of the day.
  • Assist clients in safely entering and exiting the vehicle, including individuals with mobility needs.
  • Ensure the vehicle is equipped with necessary medical equipment and supplies.
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections and routine maintenance checks to confirm roadworthiness.
  • Follow all traffic laws and adhere strictly to scheduled pick-up and drop-off times.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily transportation activities, including mileage and attendance logs.
  • Communicate relevant client concerns or observations to program staff in a timely manner.
  • Provide a supportive, respectful, and safe environment during transport.
  • Respond appropriately to emergency situations and follow established safety protocols.
  • Clean and sanitize the vehicle after each transport in compliance with health and safety guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Previous experience transporting individuals with special needs or in a healthcare or human services setting is a plus.
  • Ability to lift, assist, and support individuals as needed during boarding and exiting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and committed to client safety.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire) is preferred.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening as required by state and agency policy.

Work Conditions:

  • Split shift schedule: Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM – 9:00 AM and 2:30 PM – 5:00 PM.
  • Work involves driving in various weather and traffic conditions.
  • Regular interaction with clients who may have medical, behavioral, or mobility-related needs.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 30 per week
