Independent Living Inc. / SHAG is looking for a responsible and professional Part-Time Van Driver who prioritizes safety. The ideal candidate is reliable, possesses excellent driving skills, and maintains a positive attitude. You should be comfortable operating a full-sized van and addressing customer requests and concerns with professionalism and accuracy. The Van Driver reports directly to the Campus Manager and is responsible for safely transporting residents using the facility bus, van, or other vehicles according schedule.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Safely operate a commercial vehicle (full-sized vans)
• Safely operate and maintain all necessary paperwork for transportation
• Perform pre-trip inspection and make post-trip safety checks
• Maintain regular contact with customers and ensure their satisfaction
• Comply with all legal requirements and company policies
• Keep records of who attended off-site activity (shopping, etc.) and ensure that all are returned to the site
• Assist in planning and implementing facility van or other vehicles' schedules
• Drive facility van and other vehicles to and from required destinations safely and according to schedule
• Ensure the interior of van or other vehicles is neat and clean
• Promptly report any concerns regarding the safe and proper functioning of the bus or other vehicles to the Campus Manager.

Skills:

• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and other team members.
• Ability to perform physical job requirements, including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling of up to 10 pounds, standing for moderate periods, walking, climbing stairs, sitting in vehicles, and ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Basic computer skills, including email correspondence.
• Ability to use a cellular phone for communication.
• Professional communication skills.
• Attention to detail.

• Your driving record must meet our insurance minimum standard.
