About
We are looking for a detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to manage incoming shipments at our Chicago, Illinois facility. This role is central to our logistics chain, ensuring that all goods are received, inspected, and processed accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills and a strong understanding of warehouse operations and Safety procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Accept, unload, and inspect incoming shipments, verifying quantities and quality against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Accurately document all received goods into the inventory management system.
- Identify and report any damages, shortages, or discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
- Organize and stage received inventory for put-away or further processing.
- Operate pallet jacks and other equipment safely to move incoming goods.
- Maintain a clean and orderly receiving area, ensuring compliance with all Safety regulations.
- Properly use and maintain Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation as needed.
- Collaborate with shipping, inventory control, and other departments to ensure smooth logistics operations.
- Follow all established procedures for receiving and data entry.
- Must be able to perform tasks involving moderate Lifting, up to 30 lbs, and stand for extended periods.
- Uphold high standards of workplace Safety.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Receiving Clerk or in a similar warehouse role is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with inventory management software and computer systems.
- Strong data entry and administrative skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Familiarity with Safety practices in a warehouse setting.
- Must be able to perform tasks that may require some Lifting and physical movement.
