About
Our Milwaukee, Wisconsin distribution center is looking for a certified Forklift Operator to join our team. This position is critical for the smooth operation of our warehouse, involving the safe and efficient movement of goods. You will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts to move, stack, and retrieve inventory, ensuring product integrity and warehouse organization. A strong commitment to safety and operational excellence is required for this role within our logistics network.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck) to move, stack, and retrieve materials.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely.
- Transport products between different areas of the warehouse.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklifts, documenting any issues and ensuring equipment is in good working order.
- Ensure proper stacking and storage of inventory to prevent damage and maintain stability.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies regarding forklift operation.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Follow traffic flow and safety guidelines within the warehouse.
- Support other warehouse functions as needed.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift certification and proven experience are mandatory.
- Previous forklift operating experience, preferably in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Thorough knowledge of forklift safety procedures and regulations.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Good hand-eye coordination and spatial reasoning.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on safe and accurate operations.
- Punctual and dependable with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Must wear required PPE, including safety shoes and vests.
- Dedication to maintaining a safe work environment is essential.
