We have an exciting opportunity for a Material Handler in our Madison, Wisconsin warehouse! This position is vital for maintaining the smooth flow of goods within our facility. You will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving materials, operating equipment, and ensuring that inventory is properly organized and accessible. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move goods.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and storage areas.
- Transport materials to and from different departments within the warehouse.
- Stack, sort, and stage items according to established procedures.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure operational safety and identify maintenance needs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
- Follow all company safety guidelines and protocols, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and put-away of stock.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding material movement.
- Report any accidents, injuries, or safety violations immediately.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is required.
- Valid forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Proficiency in operating various types of material handling equipment.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Good coordination, balance, and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Strict adherence to wearing required PPE at all times.
- Team-oriented with good communication skills.
