We are seeking an exceptional Engineering Manager who excels in supporting both users and developers.What you'll DoManage a team of engineers to support the transformation of Photoshop’s legacy UI with an updated framework, architecture, and a fresh lookHelp evolve Adobe's shared UI technology for Photoshop and other flagship product's needsSupport efforts to identify and address architectural improvements in Photoshop's codebaseBuild exceptional experiences for our customers and developersMentor aspiring technical leaders, setting high bars for excellence in architecture, code design and processDrive implementation from planning through development, quality reviews, integration, and deploymentEnsure the daily work of developers is prioritized, efficient and aligned with evolving business goalsHandle project scope and risks with data, analytics and creative problem solvingWork closely with teams and managers across Adobe, solving internal and cross-organization roadblocksWho you areA good communicator: You articulate engineering processes, progress, and goals at the correct altitude for different audiencesProactively organized: You have the right answer at the right time for your team and for your managers, rallying others through technical and operational roadblocksPragmatic: You prioritize, simplify, and act quickly to create a path forward, rather than insist on perfection or focus on problems rather than solutionsHumble: You check your ego at the front door and are a team-player interested in what's best for the customer, the product, the team, and the company, rather than in building your own empireAn empathetic mentor: You care deeply about people and enjoy growing technical and soft skills through tactful yet candid feedbackWhat you need to succeed5+ years as a software engineer3+ years as an engineering managerA bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experienceA strong background in related hands-on software development and software architecture, with the ability to sympathize with and understand developers, speaking from personal experienceAbility to thrive in a highly complex environmentExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skillsA willingness to get in the trenches whenever needed, rather than just cheer from the sidelines!Knowledge and passion for Photoshop or other Adobe products!Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this positionis $132,700 -- $267,600 annually. Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills,and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans.
