Floor Technician

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Floor Technician to join our environmental services team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of various flooring surfaces within commercial and institutional settings. This role is essential in ensuring a safe, hygienic, and professional environment for staff and visitors. Prior janitorial or custodial experience, especially in commercial cleaning and floor care, is highly valued. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to a well-maintained facility while developing expertise in specialized cleaning techniques.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive floor care including cleaning, buffing, and polishing to maintain high standards of appearance.
• Conduct carpet cleaning using appropriate equipment and methods to remove stains, dirt, and allergens.
• Maintain cleanliness of floors through sweeping, mopping, stripping, sealing, and waxing as needed.
• Utilize janitorial supplies and equipment efficiently to ensure optimal results.
• Follow safety protocols during all cleaning procedures to prevent accidents or damage.
• Assist with general custodial tasks such as trash removal, restroom sanitation, and supply replenishment.
• Document completed tasks and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management promptly.

Requirements

• Proven experience in janitorial services, custodial work, or environmental cleaning preferred.
• Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing, carpet cleaning, and surface maintenance.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as buffers, extractors, and vacuums safely and effectively.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy equipment or supplies, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Prior experience in commercial cleaning or environmental services is a plus. This role is vital in supporting the overall hygiene and safety of our facilities while providing opportunities for professional growth within the cleaning industry.
