Janitor/Cleaner

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor/Cleaner to maintain the cleanliness and safety of our facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial, residential, or industrial cleaning and possess a strong work ethic. This role involves performing a variety of cleaning tasks to ensure a hygienic and welcoming environment for staff and visitors alike. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to the overall maintenance and appearance of our premises through diligent custodial work.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal across various areas of the facility
• Conduct specialized floor care such as buffing, polishing, and carpet cleaning to maintain high standards of cleanliness
• Use appropriate cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and effectively
• Maintain restrooms, kitchens, and common areas to ensure they are sanitized and well-stocked
• Assist with light maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs or minor repairs when necessary
• Follow safety protocols and proper procedures for handling cleaning supplies and equipment
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management promptly
• Adhere to scheduled cleaning routines and special project requirements

Qualifications

• Prior janitorial or custodial experience preferred, especially in commercial or industrial settings
• Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing, stripping, and sealing floors
• Experience with various cleaning tools and equipment such as buffers, vacuums, and pressure washers
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Good physical stamina for standing, bending, lifting, and performing repetitive tasks throughout the shift
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and handle cleaning chemicals responsibly
• Reliable with a strong work ethic committed to maintaining cleanliness standards
