We are seeking a friendly, hard working Dental Assistant who puts patients first and loves working in a smaller (two Doctor) dental office. The position is for chairside assisting Dr. Smith. We have a great work schedule: Mondays 8-4, Tuesdays & Thursday 8-5, and Wednesdays 7-2. NO FRIDAYS, NO WEEKENDS, and NO CALL

1-2 years of General Dentistry Assisting is desirable, but we are very willing to train on-the-job. The idea candidate is detail-oriented, empathetic towards a patient's needs, puts other before self, and finds enjoyment and satisfaction in helping others with their oral health.

Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during various procedures (restorative, prosthodontic, endodontic, oral surgery, & pediatric treatments) using chairside assisting techniques, including four-handed dentistry
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available
- Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, while adhering to aseptic techniques and radiation safety protocols
- Record vital signs and medical history information accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral health maintenance
- Maintain infection control standards by following OSHA guidelines and HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and medical documentation
- Manage patient flow efficiently to minimize wait times.
- Support administrative tasks when needed, including scheduling appointments, updating records, and following up with patients who have unmet treatment needs.
- Ensure the clinic environment remains clean, organized, and compliant with all safety protocols
Experience
- 1-2 years experience working in a general dental clinic setting is preferred but on-the-job training will be provided
- X-ray Certification and Coronal Polish certification is required
- Proficiency with Dentrix is desirable, but we will train if unfamiliar
- Knowledge of dental terminology and medical imaging techniques
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients and collaborate with team members
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
