Underground Lineman General Laborer/Apprentice

As an Underground Lineman Apprentice you will be in the entry level position in learning how to construct, maintain and repair underground residential distribution lines URD. The URD powerlines are the backbone of the electrical grid and this position is the first step in becoming a master of the trade.

Job Duties:

· Providing assistance and working directly with the crew foreman.

· Working in and around energized electrical equipment; (transformers, meters, powerlines, etc.)

· Maintaining and learning how to use specialized equipment, vehicles and tooling.

· The ability to perform intensive labor in demanding environments.

· Capable of taking direction from senior personnel.

· Willingness to work on tall ladders, climb poles and bucket trucks.

· Learn and understand the difference between distribution (medium) voltage and secondary voltage.

· Ability to follow safety rules and protocols.

· Capable of learning the industries cable terminations.

· Obtaining a CDL Class A driver's license.

· Doing all other related work required of you in this position.

Job Requirements

· No experience is needed to start, electrical experience is a plus.

· CDL permit within 90 days of employment.

· Lifting requirement of 50lbs or greater.

· Overtime in many circumstances.

· Able to work extended periods of time and travel during large storm events.
