Position Overview

The Store Manager oversees day-to-day store operations , team leadership , and the customer experience across sales, service, and classes. This role suits someone who is organized, tech-comfortable, proactive, and thrives in a fast-moving retail environment. Sewing/quilting knowledge is required, but leadership and a service-driven mindset matter even more.

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management

• Hire, train, schedule, and motivate staff
• Maintain a positive, solutions-focused work environment
• Coach employees in sales skills, customer engagement, and product knowledge

Store Operations

• Oversee daily open/close procedures
• Manage inventory accuracy and product merchandising
• Ensure store cleanliness, safety, and visual presentation
• Coordinate with ownership on priorities, promotions, and events

Customer Experience

• Provide exceptional service, troubleshooting, and support
• Resolve customer concerns with professionalism and empathy
• Build relationships with our loyal quilting community

Sales & Business Goals

• Meet or exceed sales targets
• Monitor KPIs and adjust strategy to improve performance
• Assist in planning events, classes, and promotions
• Ensure accurate use of POS and retail systems

Administrative & Technical Tasks

• Maintain accurate cash handling and reporting
• Work with RainPOS (experience a plus—training available)

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail management or leadership experience
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure
• Comfortable with point-of-sale systems and basic tech
• Passion for the creative/crafting community a big plus
• Able to lift 25+ lbs and be on your feet during shifts

Schedule

Full-time, including some Saturdays. No late evenings.

Pay: $35, $48,000.00 per year
