Duties

  • Assist veterinarians with clinical procedures including animal restraint, catheterization, and sample collection using aseptic techniques.
  • Perform laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostic procedures to support accurate diagnoses.
  • Provide pet care services including grooming, feeding, and administering medications as directed.
  • Handle various animals confidently, including dogs, cats, and equines, ensuring safe and gentle animal handling at all times.
  • Maintain accurate medical records, update patient files, and prepare animals for imaging procedures like X-ray.
  • Support dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and assisting with cleaning and oral examinations.
  • Manage kennel duties by cleaning, feeding, monitoring animal behavior, and ensuring proper animal husbandry practices are followed.

Requirements

  • Prior kennel experience or hands-on animal care experience is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and critical care practices.
  • Experience with dog training, pet grooming, and pet care enhances your ability to excel in this role.
  • Familiarity with laboratory procedures and X-ray operation is desirable.
  • Strong animal handling skills across different species with an emphasis on safety and restraint techniques.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and educate pet owners on animal health needs.
