Job Description
SyberJet is seeking an experienced Network Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in enterprise networking, wireless infrastructure, site-to-site VPNs, physical access control, and IP camera systems. This role is infrastructure-focused and ideal for an engineer who enjoys owning and improving secure, high-availability networks across multiple locations. You will be responsible for the design, deployment, and operation of wired and wireless networks, secure inter-site connectivity, and integrated physical security systems, while providing limited Tier 2 support as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Network & Infrastructure Engineering
- Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise wired and wireless networks
- Architect and support multi-site networks with site-to-site VPNs
- Configure and manage firewalls, switches, gateways, and wireless access points
- Administer UniFi infrastructure (or equivalent: Meraki, Aruba, Fortinet)
- Design and manage VLAN-segmented networks for users, servers, cameras, and access control
- Implement and maintain remote-access VPNs for secure user connectivity
- Monitor network performance, reliability, and security
- Perform advanced troubleshooting across LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, and VPN environments
- Plan network capacity, redundancy, and future expansion
Wireless & Wi-Fi Systems
- Design and optimize Wi-Fi coverage and performance across office and industrial spaces
- Troubleshoot interference, roaming, and performance issues
- Implement secure wireless authentication and segmentation
- Support multiple SSIDs for corporate, guest, and IoT devices
Physical Security & Access Control
- Design, support, and maintain door access control systems
- Manage access permissions, credentials, and role-based access
- Support IP-based camera systems (CCTV) including network design, bandwidth planning, and troubleshooting
- Segment and secure physical security networks
- Coordinate with vendors, facilities, and security teams on installations and upgrades
Secondary Responsibilities – Tier 2 Support
- Provide Tier 2 escalation support for network-related end-user issues
- Support Windows and macOS systems when issues intersect with network or security infrastructure
- Document configurations, network diagrams, and system changes
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in a Network Engineer or Infrastructure Engineer role
- Strong hands-on experience with enterprise networking platforms (UniFi strongly preferred)
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, and firewalls
- Proven experience with site-to-site VPNs and remote-access VPNs
- Experience designing and supporting Wi-Fi networks at scale
- Experience with physical access control systems
- Experience supporting IP camera / CCTV systems
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with network security architecture and best practices
- Cloud networking exposure (Azure, AWS, VMWARE or similar)
- Experience supporting manufacturing, engineering, or multi-site corporate environments
- Relevant certifications (CCNA, Network+, Security+, UniFi, etc.)
