Job Summary

The Machine Maintenance Operator is a non-exempt hourly position responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial manufacturing equipment used in the production of metal storage racks. This position supports safe and efficient operations by maintaining roll forming machines, punch press machines, conveyors, and related equipment, in compliance with all applicable California and federal safety regulations.

Essential Functions

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

  • Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on roll forming machines, punch press machines, conveyors, and auxiliary equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including motors, wiring, sensors, switches, and control components
  • Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses, and fittings
  • Identify and correct mechanical issues involving bearings, chains, belts, gearboxes, and machine alignment
  • Assist with machine setup, adjustments, and production start-ups as required
  • Respond to equipment malfunctions and breakdowns to minimize production downtime
  • Accurately complete maintenance logs, work orders, and parts usage documentation
  • Comply with all company safety policies and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE requirements, and OSHA standards
  • Communicate effectively with production supervisors and operators regarding equipment performance and maintenance needs
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts related to equipment reliability, efficiency, and safety
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in industrial or manufacturing equipment maintenance
  • Working knowledge of electrical troubleshooting in an industrial setting
  • Hands-on experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and mechanical drawings
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with roll forming machines and punch press equipment
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification
  • Technical or trade certifications related to electrical, mechanical, or industrial maintenance
  • Experience in metal fabrication or manufacturing environments

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.50 per hour
