Role Description
We are hiring a Business Development Specialist to join our team in San Diego. This is a client-facing, outbound-focused role where you will play a pivotal part in introducing and selling our AI software and services to insurance agencies and brokerages across the U.S.
This person MUST be located in San Diego, CA.
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining relationships with clients, developing growth strategies, negotiating deals, conducting market research, attending industry events, and collaborating with the marketing team to optimize business development initiatives.
Responsibilities
Actively source, prospect, and engage insurance brokerages, agencies, and firms of all sizes across the country
Lead full-cycle sales: from outreach to presentation, product demo, negotiation, and contract closing.
Collaborate with our internal teams (product, marketing, and implementation) to tailor pitches and ensure seamless onboarding.
Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline and manage CRM data.
Attend industry events, trade shows, and client meetings to represent our platform.
Provide client feedback to help improve product positioning, messaging, and user experience.
Qualifications
- B2B sales experience in the insurance, SaaS, or AI industry.
- Strong understanding of insurance workflows, brokerages, and sales teams.
- Experience in identifying new business opportunities and developing growth strategies.
- Skills in building and maintaining client relationships, and negotiating deals.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment.
- Ability to travel to meet clients when needed.
- Previous experience selling to insurance carriers or brokerages is a plus.
Nice-to-Haves:
Familiarity with AI, automation, or compliance tools
Existing network in the insurance or Insurtech industry
Compensation
- Commission Structure – highly competitive performance-based commissions.
- Commissions between: $5,000 to $10,000 per month
