Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Field Service Technician to join our team. This role involves providing on-site technical support, maintenance, and troubleshooting for scale manufacturing equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical, electrical, and industrial maintenance skills, with the ability to work independently in diverse settings. A background in customer service and analysis skills is highly valued to ensure effective communication and problem resolution with clients.
Duties
- Install, calibrate, test, and certify commercial and industrial weighing equipment
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair scale systems, load cells, indicators, and peripherals
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Verify scale accuracy in accordance with NIST, state, and local regulations
- Document service work, calibration results, and inspection reports accurately
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly with customers
- Respond to service calls in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain service tools, test weights, vehicle, and inventory
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies while working on-site
- Provide basic training to customers on proper scale use and care as needed
Experience
- Mechanical and/or electronic service experience preferred
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
- Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Valid CDL or ability to obtain CDL within 90 days of hire
- Ability to safely operate a forklift (training may be provided)
- Must be drug-free and able to pass required drug testing
- Ability to lift and handle 50 lb. test weights
- Starting pay at $25.00/hour and up, based on experience
- Field-based, hands-on position
- On-the-job training provided
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $ $40.00 per hour
