Are you a detail-oriented individual seeking a dynamic role in a fast-paced environment? We are hiring Picker/Packers for our distribution center in Detroit, Michigan. This position is crucial for ensuring that customer orders are accurately and efficiently fulfilled. You will be responsible for locating items within the warehouse, verifying quantities, and packaging them for shipment. Success in this role requires precision, speed, and a commitment to quality. You will work with various tools and technologies, including RF scanners, to streamline the picking and packing process. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from warehouse inventory based on customer orders using RF scanners or pick lists.
- Verify the accuracy of picked items against order details to ensure correctness.
- Package products carefully and securely to prevent damage during shipping, selecting appropriate materials.
- Apply shipping labels and any other necessary documentation to packages.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation and surrounding area.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, such as cycle counts and put-away, as needed.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE (e.g., safety vest, gloves).
- Be comfortable with frequent Lifting of items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily order fulfillment goals and support our Logistics team.
- Follow all operational instructions to ensure order accuracy and timeliness.
- Contribute to a positive and efficient warehouse atmosphere.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a picking/packing or warehouse role is advantageous. Ability to read and interpret pick lists and RF scanner prompts. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Capacity to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Must be able to stand, walk, and perform manual tasks for extended shifts. Knowledge of warehouse Logistics is helpful. Willingness to comply with all Safety regulations and wear required PPE . Ability to perform repetitive Lifting and bending.
