We are hiring an experienced Forklift Operator for our Des Moines, Iowa warehouse. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise within the warehouse. Your duties will include loading and unloading trucks, transporting materials to and from production or storage areas, and assisting with inventory management. The ideal candidate is highly skilled, safety-conscious, and experienced in navigating warehouse environments. This position offers excellent compensation and the chance to be a key player in our logistics operations. Your proficiency with forklifts will ensure the smooth and safe movement of goods, contributing significantly to our operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently to move materials.
- Load and unload freight from trailers and containers.
- Transport goods to and from various warehouse locations, including storage racks and production lines.
- Stack and stage merchandise accurately and securely.
- Perform pre-operation inspections on forklifts and report any maintenance issues.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock put-away/retrieval.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring clear aisles and safety zones.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure smooth operational flow and efficient logistics.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Forklift Operator with a valid certification or license. Must be proficient in operating various types of forklifts. Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional Lifting of up to 50 lbs. Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and practices. Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness. Must be reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic. Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics environment. Legal right to work in the United States.
