Seeking a highly reliable Forklift Operator to join our busy warehouse in Austin, Texas. The ideal candidate will have a strong safety record and experience operating various types of forklifts. You will be responsible for moving materials, loading and unloading shipments, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our logistics operations. This role demands a proactive approach to safety and an ability to work effectively in a demanding environment. We value precision and efficiency in all our warehouse activities.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to move, stack, and retrieve materials.
- Load and unload goods from trucks, ensuring proper securing and weight distribution.
- Conduct daily pre-operational checks on forklifts and report any maintenance needs.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, including the mandatory use of PPE and maintaining awareness of surroundings.
- Assist with inventory management and stocktaking as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, contributing to efficient warehouse flow.
- Follow specific instructions for order picking and staging.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
- Understand and implement best practices in warehouse logistics and material handling.
- Occasional lifting of items up to 50 lbs will be required.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator with a valid certification.
- Demonstrated knowledge of forklift operation and safety procedures.
- Experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including significant lifting.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to guidelines.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic logistics setting.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Team-oriented with good communication skills.
- Must be able to work flexible hours as needed.
