About
We are looking for a diligent Material Handler to join our Virginia Beach, Virginia team. This role is essential for ensuring the efficient and safe movement of materials within our facility. You will be responsible for operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to transport, store, and retrieve materials. Accurate inventory management and strict adherence to Safety protocols are paramount. This position plays a critical role in our overall Logistics operations, ensuring materials are available when and where needed. We are committed to a safe and productive workplace.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and storage areas.
- Transport materials to and from various departments within the facility.
- Assist with inventory control, including cycle counts and stock verification.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all company policies and Safety regulations.
- Properly use all required PPE .
- Inspect equipment regularly and report any maintenance needs.
- Perform tasks that involve frequent Lifting of materials up to 50 pounds.
- Support shipping and receiving activities as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role is required.
- Valid forklift operator certification is highly desirable.
- Ability to operate various types of material handling equipment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and inventory procedures.
- Good physical condition with the ability to perform tasks involving significant Lifting and manual labor.
- Commitment to workplace safety and a proactive approach to hazard identification.
