Position Summary: Responsible for performing repairs and preventative maintenance on THL equipment and facilities to ensure maximum uptime for production while preserving safety.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned.
· When breakdowns occur, performs quality corrective repairs to THL equipment and systems in the fastest way possible while maintaining safety and long-term functionality.
· Responds promptly to equipment service calls.
· Performs preventative maintenance on machines and systems, adhering to a PM schedule and completing assigned daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual PM tasks to ensure proactive, predictive maintenance on machines to improve uptime.
· Coordinates maintenance and repairs with the production team to ensure necessary work is performed on machines in a way that minimizes production downtime and product loss.
· Responsible for assisting in the installation and/or coordination of installation for new equipment, systems and special projects or construction.
· Helps keep accurate parts inventory records as parts/supplies are used for repairs. Reports inventory needs to Shift Supervisor or Chief Engineer so low inventory can be replenished to contribute to timeliness of repairs.
· Keeps required activity and repair logs, maintenance programs, and other assigned records to ensure organized, timely and thorough maintenance operations and procedures.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education/Experience: Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability: Required to speak, read and comprehend English fluently. Read, analyze and interpret business, professional, technical or governmental documents. Write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers and the public.
Reasoning Ability: Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Technical Skills/Certifications: Proficiency in electrical and mechanical work and troubleshooting required; boiler, hydraulics, air compressors, HVAC, and water softener operations and experience preferred; welding/cutting, plumbing, and forklift certification preferred but not required. Industrial maintenance experience preferred.
Computer Skills: Touch-screen computer systems and computerized operating screens utilized on various equipment throughout the plant. Daily use of assigned iPad required to log repairs, input data for reports, maintain inventory, and follow PM schedule.
Machine Skills: Diagnostic equipment, electrical meters, hand and power tools, light and heavy industrial equipment and devices, forklift, scissor lift.

· Frequent exposure to a variety of electro-mechanical hazards.
· Frequent exposure to injury from moving parts of equipment. Subject to burns and cuts.
· Frequent exposure to noisy equipment, sufficient to cause distraction or possible hearing loss.
· Commonly exposed to hazardous conditions where there is danger to life, body and/or health.
· Commonly works in precarious or high locations (ladders, scissor lifts, etc.).
· Commonly exposed to hot and humid work environment and steam hazards.
· May be exposed to industrial cleaning agents/chemicals, some of which are toxic.
· May be exposed to hazardous body fluids, waste, and potentially infectious materials.
· Occasional irregular work hours including absentee replacement on short notice.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
· Required to stand, bend, kneel, stoop, reach, twist, squat, crawl and otherwise maneuver to perform various specialized tasks in, around, over and under machines and operating systems
· Required to climb ladders, steps and stairways routinely, sufficient to cause stress and strain to knees, feet, shoulders and various other parts of the body. Independent mobility and ability to maintain balance, body control and in some cases, agility, are crucial to performing the essential functions of this position.
· Required to push, pull, lift, grip and carry more than 50 pounds.
· Eyesight demand: Required to differentiate and categorize different parts, components, and perform necessary duties based on visual inspection, sometimes in time-sensitive situations.
· Hearing Demand: Required to hear to be able to distinguish trouble sounds, equipment abnormalities, alarms, or unusual conditions sufficient to cause harm to self or others.
· Frequently exposed to physically and mentally intensive, time-sensitive tasks, sufficient to cause increases in stress levels during these times, followed by times of minimal physical and mental demand and subsequent low stress levels.
Required Personal Protective Equipment: Hearing protection and eye protection when applicable.

Base Pay: $ $33.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
