Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated CNA Supervisor to oversee nursing assistant staff within a dynamic healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, comprehensive clinical knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care. This role involves supervising daily operations, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards, and fostering a collaborative environment that promotes quality outcomes across various care settings, including long-term care, assisted living, hospitals, and specialized units. The CNA Supervisor will play a vital role in coordinating patient services, maintaining accurate medical documentation, and supporting staff development to uphold the highest standards of care. A salaried position with approximately 40-50 hours a week of work.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) across multiple departments or units.
- Ensure adherence to all healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and infection control protocols such as aseptic technique.
- Oversee patient care activities including vital signs monitoring, medication administration support, catheter care, and basic life support procedures.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans for patients with diverse needs such as dementia, Alzheimer's, memory care, behavioral health issues, or developmental disabilities.
- Facilitate staff scheduling, training programs—including EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks—and performance evaluations.
- Monitor clinical documentation for accuracy and completeness in medical records and ensure compliance with healthcare policies.
- Assist in managing complex cases involving acute care, ICU, emergency medicine, post-acute care, or outpatient services.
- Support staff in specialized areas such as hospice care, infectious disease management, pediatrics, geriatrics, or home & community care.
- Participate in quality assurance activities and contribute to ongoing process improvements within the facility.
- Act as a liaison between management and direct patient care staff to promote a positive work environment focused on patient safety and satisfaction.

Qualifications
- Valid CNA certification with current licensure required; additional certifications in BLS/CPR preferred.
- Extensive clinical experience in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals (including Level I Trauma Centers), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or outpatient clinics.
- Proven leadership skills with prior supervisory or team lead experience in healthcare settings.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, infection control practices (including aseptic technique), and medication administration protocols.
- Experience working with special populations including dementia/dementia care patients, behavioral health clients, children or individuals with disabilities is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and provide staff mentorship.
