Join our growing team as a Material Handler in our busy distribution center located in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient handling of all materials within the warehouse. This includes receiving, storing, retrieving, and preparing items for distribution. You will operate various equipment to move products, ensuring that inventory is accurately managed and readily available. A strong understanding of warehouse logistics and a commitment to safety are essential. We are looking for individuals who are reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of performing physically demanding tasks. This position is key to ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics network and meeting customer demands.
Responsibilities:
- Unload and load shipments from trucks, ensuring proper handling and documentation.
- Transport materials to designated areas using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
- Accurately record inventory movements within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Conduct regular inspections of materials and products for damage.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace, adhering to all company guidelines.
- Safely operate material handling equipment, demonstrating proficiency and awareness.
- Properly use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Participate in physical inventory counts and cycle counting as needed.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as assigned.
- Contribute to a positive and productive team environment focused on logistics efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is a plus.
- Must be able to handle the physical demands of the job, including frequent lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety standards and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes.
- Understanding of basic logistics principles is beneficial.
