About
This role is critical to ensuring the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of equipment, materials, fluids, and personnel to and from oilfield locations. The ideal candidate understands oilfield environments, follows safety protocols without exception, and takes pride in operating equipment responsibly while representing Gandy Corporation professionally in the field.
Key Responsibilities
Driving & Transportation
- Safely operate CDL-required vehicles, including water trucks, vacuum trucks, flatbeds, and other oilfield service vehicles.
- Transport equipment, materials, and products between yards, well sites, customer locations, and disposal facilities.
- Perform safe loading, unloading, and securing of cargo in compliance with DOT regulations and company standards.
- Maintain awareness of road conditions, weather, and hazards specific to oilfield environments.
- Strictly adhere to all company safety policies, client safety rules, and federal, state, and local regulations.
- Wear a personal H₂S monitor at all required times while on oilfield job sites and respond immediately to alarms in accordance with training and emergency procedures.
- Participate in safety meetings, tailgate talks, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and ongoing safety training.
- Identify, report, and assist in correcting unsafe conditions, near misses, incidents, or environmental hazards.
- Maintain full compliance with DOT regulations, hours-of-service requirements, vehicle inspections, and log documentation.
- Conduct and document pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections daily.
- Report mechanical issues, maintenance needs, or safety concerns promptly.
- Keep assigned vehicles clean, fueled, and ready for work at all times.
- Assist with basic equipment maintenance and operational checks as required.
- Coordinate with dispatch, supervisors, and operations personnel to execute daily work assignments efficiently.
- Follow all site-specific access, check-in, and operating procedures.
- Communicate professionally with customers, supervisors, and coworkers in high-risk environments.
- Accurately complete delivery tickets, service documentation, and electronic or paper reports.
Essential Skills
- Valid CDL with a clean driving record.
- Several years of experience operating commercial vehicles in oilfield or industrial environments.
- Strong understanding of oilfield safety protocols and hazardous work conditions.
- Willingness and ability to wear and properly maintain an H₂S monitor at all required times.
- Knowledge of DOT compliance, inspections, safe-driving practices, and documentation requirements.
- Dependable, safety-minded, and capable of working extended hours and variable schedules as required by oilfield operations.
- H₂S Alive certification (or willingness to obtain).
- First Aid / CPR certification.
- Experience hauling fluids, equipment, or specialized oilfield loads.
- Mechanical aptitude or basic vehicle maintenance experience.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

- Operating commercial vehicles
- Working long hours in outdoor and hazardous environments
- Climbing on and off equipment
- Securing loads and wearing the required PPE
- Properly wearing an H₂S monitor
- Ongoing compliance with DOT medical certifications, physicals, and client-specific safety qualifications.
