JOB TITLE: Housekeeper/EVS Technician โ Hospice House
DEPARTMENT: Environmental Services
REPORTS TO: Environmental Services Supervisor/ Facilities Director
**Minimum pay $15.88/hour (+more DOE)
JOB SUMMARY
The Housekeeper's responsibility is to maintain the Spirit Mountain interior and furnishings in a clean, aseptic and orderly fashion, promoting the recovery of our patients, and ensuring a pleasant environment for our guests, visitors and staff. They assist in maintaining the exterior grounds and interior equipment.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Must be able to read, understand and follow simple directions. Will be required to have a valid Wyoming driver's license to perform food and supply transport.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
Valid clean driver's license.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Clean all areas of an assignment given by the EVS Supervisor, EVS Lead or Facilities Director according to the policies and procedures set forth by the Environmental Services Department and following State and Federal standards. This cleaning is to include but is not limited to the following as assigned by schedules.
- All patient rooms, furnishings and bathrooms.
- All guest lobbies and restrooms.
- All ancillary departments, lounges and dining rooms.
- Removal of trash, cleaning of halls and carpets.
- Completing and assisting with periodic project work.
- Washing walls, windows.
- Carpet and hall floor care including shampooing carpets.
- Buffing and maintaining hard floors.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Follow standard precautions as set forth by O.S.H.A. and Hospital regulations.
- Wearing gloves and frequent hand washing.
- Use of other personal protective equipment.
- Understanding and following isolation procedures.
- Needs to familiarize self with the use and protection of equipment for blood borne pathogens as stated in the OSHA Blood Borne Pathogens Standard.
- Knowledge of chemicals, names and use/dilutions.
- Identify chemicals by name.
- Proper use of chemicals.
- Knowledge of Safety Data Sheets and where they are located.
- How to read and understand.

- Communicate with patients regarding patients' rights.
- Special requests.
- General cleaning duties will include occupied patient rooms, dismissal unit, utilities, offices, dining rooms, floor refinishing, general floor care, carpet and furniture shampooing, general trash removal, red waste removal, restrooms.
- Will use the following equipment: High speed buffers, small scrubbers, vacuums (small and wide areas), extractors (small and wide areas), automatic floor scrubbers, wet floor scrubber, wet floor signs, carts, ladders.
- Must be willing to work beyond normal hours and in other positions temporarily when necessary.
- Must be willing to travel to the main facility twice daily for meal delivery.
- Attends and participates in continuing education programs.
- Works in all areas of the facility.
- Subject to frequent interruptions.
- Required to attend all department meetings.
- Required to be available for emergency situations.
- Serves on various committees of the facility as required by the Facilities Director/EVS Supervisor.
- Have working knowledge of electrical generation, boiler systems, fire alarm and signal systems.
- Must be knowledgeable of safe working practices including the use of power equipment.
- Develops and maintains a good working rapport with interdepartmental personnel within the entire facility.
- Pick up and deliver supplies for various departments, in town and out of town.
- Maintains records of tests, quality control and all pertinent information as it relates to Plant Operations department.
- Maintains a safe and clean environment in the departments for patients and employees.
- Maintains QI records, records of tests and all pertinent information required within the Plant Operations Department for the Spirit Mountain Hospice House.
- Utilize computers.
- Demonstrate knowledge and compliance with facility wide and departmental policies and procedures.
- Actively participates in Cody Regional Health Compliance Program and demonstrates compliance with required laws and regulations and ensures departmental compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Actively participate in mandatory hospital education programs/in-services.
- Meets attendance policy requirements.
- Exercise independent judgment and discretion when carrying out the essential functions of this position.
Location: Cody Regional Health ยท ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES HOSPICE HOUSE
Schedule: Full Time (80 pp), Days, 8:00am to 4:30pm
