The Deli Supervisor is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of deli operations, ensuring exceptional customer service and product quality. This position requires a proactive and energetic individual with strong leadership and management skills, coupled with a thorough understanding of food safety and sanitation practices. The Deli Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating daily activities, managing staff, and maintaining a clean and efficient work environment. Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily deli operations, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to company standards.
  • Manage and train deli staff, providing guidance and support to foster a positive and productive team environment.
  • Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines, ensuring a clean and safe work environment.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly and professionally.
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and merchandising of deli products to maximize sales and minimize waste.
  • Coordinate staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and efficient operations.
  • Demonstrate leadership by setting a positive example and motivating the team.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the deli, including food preparation areas, display cases, and equipment.
  • Effectively communicate with team members and management regarding operational needs and performance.
  • Monitor and manage food costs, striving to achieve profitability goals.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • General knowledge of retail operations and food services.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to speak and understand the English language.
  • Punctuality and reliability are essential.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a supervisory role within a deli or similar food service environment.
  • Experience with merchandising and inventory management.
  • Certification in food safety and sanitation.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a customer-facing role.
