Controller - Juice Generation (NYC, On-Site)

About the Role

Juice Generation is seeking a highly organized and process-driven Controller to lead our

accounting and HR administrative functions. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role is

critical to ensuring financial accuracy, operational compliance, and scalable processes as

we enter our next phase of growth.

The ideal candidate is disciplined, systems-oriented, and thrives in an environment where

consistency, structure, and accountability matter. This is a hands-on, on-site role based in

New York City.

Key Responsibilities

Financial & Accounting Leadership

  • Lead a three-person team and oversee AP, GL, payroll, month-end close, and budgeting
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
  • Produce monthly financials and variance analysis
  • Ensure GAAP compliance and enforce accounting policies
  • Monitor food, labor, commissary, and overhead costs; partner with Operations on store-level profitability initiatives

HR & People Operations

  • Oversee payroll accuracy and timekeeping integrity
  • Maintain employee files, compliance documentation, and HR records
  • Administer benefits and support open enrollment

Controls, Compliance & Procedures

  • Maintain and enforce financial and HR SOPs
  • Strengthen internal controls across cash, inventory, labor, and payroll
  • Support external CPA, tax, legal, and audit partners

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Manage accounting, payroll, and HR systems; support POS/payroll integrations
  • Improve accuracy, visibility, and efficiency across Finance and HR workflows
  • Build disciplined, auditable, and repeatable processes

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience; multi-unit restaurant or retail experience required
  • Strong GAAP knowledge and hands-on accounting skills
  • Experience overseeing payroll and HR compliance
  • Comfortable building and enforcing policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Proficient with POS, payroll, and accounting systems
  • Highly organized with excellent follow-through
  • Familiarity with NYS labor laws and HR compliance
