As our firm continues to scale toward significant annual growth, we are seeking a high-level Business Development Manager who can drive new client acquisition, prospect actively, and secure new retained search contracts.
Position Summary
The Business Development Manager is responsible for all outbound and inbound sales activity related to securing new retained executive search clients. This role focuses on generating qualified leads, building relationships with nonprofit and ministry leaders, nurturing prospects, and closing new search agreements.
This person will execute a structured outreach strategy (email, LinkedIn, calls, networking), manage a monthly pipeline of qualified prospects, prepare proposals, and coordinate with the President of The Baugher Group to close new searches. The ideal candidate is self-driven, highly relational, experienced in B2B service sales, and comfortable selling to executive-level leaders within Christian ministries and nonprofit organizations.
The role is remote but requires work hours aligned with the Eastern Time Zone.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive all outbound sales activity to secure new retained search clients
- Manage a weekly outreach rhythm (email campaigns, LinkedIn messages, phone calls, follow-ups)
- Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline of ministries, nonprofits, Christian schools, and faith-based businesses
- Schedule discovery calls, qualify prospects, and facilitate sales conversations with prospective clients
- Track leads, outreach, and pipeline progress in CRM
- Prepare proposals for new searches and support the President during the closing process
- Maintain a monthly quota of search contracts signed
- Represent The Baugher Group with professionalism, clarity, and mission alignment
- Assist with referral-building, networking, and securing multi-search agreements
- Provide weekly reporting on metrics, KPIs, and pipeline activity
- Maintain strong relationships with prospects, clients, and organizational leaders
- Attend virtual team meetings, quarterly sales planning sessions, and collaborative strategy calls
Qualifications
- 3–7+ years of sales experience (B2B, consulting, executive search, staffing, or nonprofit services preferred)
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas
- Experience selling high-trust, high-fee professional services
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written), including experience speaking with executive leaders
- Highly relational, self-motivated, and disciplined in follow-up
- Familiarity with Christian ministries, churches, nonprofit organizations, or values-aligned businesses is a significant plus
- Ability to manage a CRM, track KPIs, and maintain clean data
- Comfortable with outbound outreach and cold/warm sales rhythms
- Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work independently
- Must be able to work during EST business hours
Compensation & Salary Range
This role includes a base salary + aggressive commission structure, designed to reward strong performance and secure high revenue growth.
Base Salary Range:
- $35,000 – $50,000 annually, depending on experience
Commission & Earnings Potential:
- Competitive performance-based commission on closed searches
- Additional bonuses for multi-search agreements and annual hiring partnerships
- Realistic On-Target Earnings (OTE): $120,000 – $180,000+
- Top performers can earn $200,000+ annually
