About The Role

As a Principal Frontend Engineer at Weave, you will be a key technical leader responsible for shaping the future of our frontend systems. This role involves setting the strategic vision for frontend development, mentoring engineering teams, and making high-stakes technical decisions that impact the company's product ecosystem. You will operate across multiple departments to ensure our frontend architecture is scalable, performant, and aligned with our long-term business objectives. The position offers flexibility with US-based remote, hybrid, or in-office work arrangements, providing an excellent opportunity to influence a rapidly evolving platform while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong focus on modern frontend development.
  • Deep expertise in frontend technologies such as React, React-Query, TanStack Router, Zustand, Electron, Cypress, Playwright, NX, and pnpm.
  • Proven experience in defining and executing technical strategies for complex, large-scale systems.
  • Exceptional technical judgment and strategic planning capabilities.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of mentoring engineers and influencing cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to make high-impact technical decisions focused on platform stability, performance, and future scalability.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to foster collaboration across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience in integrating AI and LLMs into frontend applications and workflows is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall direction and strategic development of Weave's frontend systems and core applications.
  • Define, communicate, and drive the technical vision for frontend architecture and standards.
  • Mentor and inspire engineering teams, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and resolve complex technical challenges related to frontend performance, scalability, and user experience.
  • Make informed, difficult technical decisions that support long-term platform stability and evolution.
  • Align multiple teams and projects to ensure cohesive progress toward shared goals.
  • Anticipate future frontend challenges and guide the organization through innovative solutions.
  • Champion performance optimization, design system consistency, and quality enhancement initiatives.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, including AI integrations, to keep the platform cutting-edge.
