Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Apprentice Plumber to join our construction and maintenance team. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in plumbing installation, repair, and maintenance within various construction and remodeling projects. The ideal candidate will develop essential skills in plumbing systems, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge while working alongside experienced professionals. This role provides an excellent opportunity to build a foundation in the plumbing trade with potential for growth into a skilled journeyman/journeywoman plumber.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems on construction sites and remodeling projects
  • Use hand tools, power tools, pipe threading equipment, and welding equipment to perform tasks accurately and safely
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure proper installation procedures
  • Measure, cut, assemble, and install pipes and fixtures according to specifications
  • Support with the use of construction site safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment
  • Aid in troubleshooting plumbing issues using mechanical knowledge and basic math skills
  • Participate in field service tasks such as pipe threading, system testing, and minor repairs under supervision
  • Collaborate with team members on carpentry, HVAC, or maintenance person tasks related to plumbing projects
  • Assist with remodeling, maintenance work, and general construction duties as needed

Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of construction work, plumbing systems, and related trades such as carpentry or HVAC is preferred
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, welding, pipe threading, and schematics is a plus
  • Familiarity with blueprint reading and mechanical concepts beneficial for interpreting project plans
  • Prior construction site experience or field service exposure is advantageous
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work safely at heights or in confined spaces as required on construction sites
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations involved in plumbing tasks
  • Maintenance Person experience or involvement in remodeling projects is desirable
  • Willingness to learn new skills and follow safety protocols diligently

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
